DMMS Science Teacher Honored
On March 22nd, Dakota Meadows Middle School Life Science teacher, Nick Schmitz, was awarded the 2015 MN Academy of Science Excellence in Science Mentoring Award. For approximately the last ten years, the MN Academy of Science has annually recognized two outstanding science teachers from around the state who find creative ways to nurture students’ interest in scientific research and discovery. This award acknowledges teachers who go above and beyond the classroom to promote science education in their schools and who encourage students to engage in hands-on projects and experiences outside the classroom. The recipients are nominated by students, parents, and colleagues. Seagate Technology gives two awards – one for a teacher with less than 10 years of experience and another for teachers with 11 or more years of experience. Each recipient receives $1000, as does their science department, an external hard drive, and an award plaque.

On March 19th , DMMS held the fifth school-wide drawing for showing PRIDE. Students have received PRIDE slips throughout the beginning of the school year.
Today Mrs. Jost's Homeroom was the big winner.
Congratulations to all students and staff who have been recognized for showing PRIDE this year!
